I'm a Personal Training Specialist in Ottawa where I work with a variety of clients to meet their fitness goals through individual and group sessions.
I use my own personal journey as a guide to the importance of fitness and wellness in overcoming adversity. Exercise and perseverance have saved my life and this highly motivational presentation will reflect that. Find out how epilepsy has made me stronger!
Key takeaways of my public speaking engagements include understanding the importance of fitness on your overall well-being, using challenge as motivation, having a disability does not mean that you are unable to exercise, use your passion as motivation, as well as the skills and tools to fight through medical and emotional battles.
My journey has not been that of a typical fitness instructor or trainer. After suffering a brain aneurysm as a baby and developing epilepsy in my teens, I realized the power of fitness on my personal well-being and the impact it had on controlling my epilepsy. My story is one of challenges and struggles but by finding my passions and using adversity as motivation, I was able to overcome these obstacles.
I'm actively involved with Epilepsy Ottawa and I have run a special fitness group tailored specifically to people with epilepsy called Get Active with Epilepsy. I have helped groups prepare to climb mountains, trained athletes in Olympic lifting, and worked with children with a variety of disabilities. I believes that anyone can do it and I work closely with my clients to help them achieve their goals. Fitness has been an integral part of my journey and my story is both inspiring and motivating! If you believe in yourself, you can get through anything and my life is living proof of this!
